IRONAGASHI - HAKKAKE Skirt

This skirt is inspired by the hidden fashionable "Hakkake" of Kimono. The sides and belt are decorated with a colorful pattern based on the Sumi-nagashi dyeing technique. The rayon material is light and comfortable to wear, making it a piece that will keep you cool even on hot days. The dyeing technique is said to have originated in the Heian period (794-1185), when ink was floated on water and then the pattern was copied on Japanese paper called "Suminagashi e". The pattern on each item differs due to the handmade nature of the work.
