Shirakawa Daruma the zodiac sign of the Shirakawa Daruma doll, a specialty of Shirakawa, Fukushima Prefecture. It is an adorable small Daruma that is just the right size to fit in the palm of your hand. The motif of this doll is "Inu" (dog) of the 12 Japanese zodiac signs. The dog is said to be a symbol of safety. The twelve animal signs of the Japanese zodiac are messengers of the gods. It is said that having the zodiac sign of the year brings good luck.
